POKER RUN HAND
This year's Poker Run is JUNE 19, 2021. All registration must be ordered online by June 5 at midnight. There will be no in-person registration.
2021 POKER RUN / JACKSON LAKE ASSOCIATION, INC.
In order to take additional precautions against the spread of COVID-19, we are adding the following additional requirements for the Poker Run in 2021. We want to do our best to protect everyone’s health and safety and respectfully request that all who participate strictly adhere to these rules.
Online Entry and Payment Only
You must enter the Poker Run and pay for your registration online, in advance before midnight on Saturday, June 5, 2021 (go to www.JLHA.org/poker-run). We will not be accepting entry and payment for late entries on the day the event, as we have done in the past, in order to minimize contact from processing payments.
Registration Pickup Limited to One Individual from each Boat
On the day of the event (June 19, 2021), there will be two (2) locations where you can pick up your registration package between the hours of 11 AM to 1 PM: Reasor’s Landing and Lakeview Marina. Remember, you must enter and pay for your registrations in advance, online as noted above.
Once you arrive at the applicable marina, only one individual is allowed to pick up the registration packets for all those participating in each boat. This individual must bring a driver’s license (or copy) for each registrant who has paid online for whom a packet is to be picked up.
The individual picking up the registration packets must wear a face mask before getting in line for pickup. We will have free masks located at each marina. Likewise, all of our registration volunteers will also be wearing masks. The registration lines will have markers on the ground spaced at least 6 feet apart, and we ask each individual getting in line to use these markers to stay a healthy distance between all others.
Picking Up Cards at Docks
Please do not get off your boat on the docks spread out over the lake where you will be picking up your playing cards from 1 PM to 4 PM. Volunteers on these docks will hand them to you from a safe distance using long poles or nets.
Turning in Hands Limited to One Individual from each Boat
The event concludes at Reasor’s Landing where participates turn in their hands between the hours of 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. After arriving at Reasor’s, please anchor your boat a safe distance from other boats offshore in front of the marina. We will have shuttle boats run by volunteers to take one individual from each boat on land to turn in all the hands from all the participants on that individual’s boat. Only one individual from each boat will be permitted to go on shore to turn in hands from all the individuals on each participating boat. The volunteers on the shuttle boats will be wearing masks, and we ask that each individual who goes on each shuttle boat to likewise wear a mask (which will be provided for free on each shuttle boat).
There will be tables for turning in hands, and the lines for these tables will have markers on the ground spaced at least 6 feet apart, and we ask each individual getting in line to use these markers to stay a healthy distance between all others. After turning in the hands for all the individuals on a particular boat, that individual will be permitted to pick up boxed food catered by Fire & Ice for all the individuals on that person’s boat and then asked to immediately take a shuttle back to your boat on the water.
Note: We may have one or more boats stationed off-shore to receive hands from boats in a “drive-thru” format so that individuals do not have to shuttle to shore to drop off hands.
Hand sanitation stations will be provided at the entrance to all lines for registration packet pickup and the tables set up for turning in hands. All tables will be wiped down with disinfectant hourly.
If you are sick or have tested positive for COVID-19, please do not participate in the Poker Run. If you have any of the high risk factors (see https://dph.georgia.gov/cdc-guidance), please do not serve as the individual picking up registration packets or turning in hands for the individuals on your boat.
Waiver of Liability.
